Tried over and over to connect with MCN and arrange to pay my loan via mail. My loan was for 520.00. I paid you 263.28 on April 4th as had been arranged on the phone with their rep. My next bill in May was supposed to be for 263.28 plus 130.60 interest for a total of 393.88 and the loan would be paid off per my conversation with them. While awaiting the instructions where to mail it and to whom I make out the cashier's check, I received an email with my balance NOW showing a total of over 2K!!! I then contacted them again about this new balance... in writing to Canada and by email and have yet to receive any reply. I had also notified their rep that I was a victim of identity theft and on advice from the Attorney General's Office and my bank I closed my bank account. When I requested their rep send me instructions, again, for mailing the payment we agreed on he stated that the West Vancouver address was not for paying the bill and would email me the address. Still, months later, nothing has been received here on my end. Now I am receiving calls from CPD???? Who states they represent MCN??? This made me very suspicious especially since I was now.... after all these years..... a victim of identity theft as well. Then my bank notified me that MCN tried to deposit more money, of which I never applied for, into my old account??? What is that all about?? Where did that come from? Leery of no instructions being sent, high balance, thousands in interest in only 4 days, identity theft, contact from CPD, money trying to be put into my old account and not being able to access my account online...I contacted the Attorney General's Office and the Federal Trade Commission. I was advised, and did, file complaints against both companies, MSN & CPD, and asked for an investigation into their practices. I emailed MCN and informed them that I was going to await the outcome of the investigations before paying another penny. I was afraid my new bank account would also be compromised. Please note: this all occurred because my check that would have paid the loan off in full was delayed being deposited into my bank by 2 days because of a holiday. I realized this the same day the loan was approved. Called IMMEDIATELY to ask for loan date change of 2 days and was told it could not be done but that I could make the first payment, mentioned above, then second one, also mentioned above.Within 4 days total the loan plus interest went from 520+130.60 at 263.28, which I paid, plus another 283.28 at end of month (not paid). Thinking all was set - imagine my shock when their next email to me stated I owed 204.60+2000!! Really?? Thank God for AG and FTC! Hope no one else goes through this ordeal. Thanks for hearing me out! So frustrated.
